Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary

About the Bloody Mary cocktail

The Bloody Mary is a classic savory cocktail made with vodka and tomato juice, usually seasoned with ingredients like Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and celery salt. It is bold, spicy, tangy, and deeply customizable, with the tomato base acting as a canvas for heat, acidity, umami, and garnish creativity.

Although the classic garnish might be as simple as celery, olives, a pickle, or a lemon wedge, the Bloody Mary has become famous for over-the-top presentations topped with everything from shrimp and bacon to sliders and fried chicken. The drink also has many base-spirit variations, including the gin-based Red Snapper, tequila-based Bloody Maria, and non-alcoholic Virgin Mary.
